8/10: Letter to our clients:
Dear Clients of Caraway Kennels,
We are changing some policies here at the kennel to help make everyone’s experience a smooth and happy one. We are very busy over the summertime and with our Daycare clientele increasing some issues have come/been brought to our attention and before things get out of control or someone get hurts we are instating some new polices.
We have recently acquired new neighbors next door; they live in the house on the hill and share the driveway with us. They have a couple of small children and a dog. We have noticed that cars are flying up the driveway at very dangerous speeds. Please slow down and take into consideration our new neighbors and also our clients that have small children that are running around the parking lot. If we do not see an improvement in the speed of the cars we will install speed bumps in the driveway to help everyone slow down. Also if you are a Daycare client and you are running a little late, we are not going to lock the door at 6pm and not let you get the dog. So there is no need to race up the driveway if you are running a few seconds late. Also you can always give us a call and let us know if you are running a little behind.
A new rule that we are enforcing is that all dogs must come in and leave with a leash on. Lately we have had many clients bring their dogs in without leashes on or take them out of the kennel without leashes on. What we have seen is dogs running around the parking lot not under the control of their owners, client’s dogs jumping on other clients and their dogs both inside and outside of the kennel. Client’s dogs chasing/terrorizing our cats and ducks (which we have lost one of our ducks), running through and destroying the hundreds of dollars worth of flowers that we plant in the summer and basically running amuck around the kennel. Also something to keep in mind, not everyone’s dog is friendly. Many of our clients have dog aggressive dogs and they should not have to worry about someone else’s dog rushing theirs because it is not on a leash. We would feel awful and I hope you would too if there was a dog fight outside of the kennel due to dogs being out of control and not on leashes. If you need help walking your dog inside or outside of the kennel or if you have forgotten a leash, please let us know and we will be more than happy to help you. Also one of our ducks is laying on a nest by the wooden fence and will soon be having babies, so please be mindful of that when you are bringing in and picking up your dogs.
We would also appreciate it if you decide to walk your dogs to go potty before you bring them into the kennel or put them in the car that you use the hill and not in front of where you park/facing towards the pond. Mary, the owner, does live on the premises and we would like to keep that area for her family and her dogs/barn yard animals. Also if everyone is letting their dogs go in one area then it is easier for us to keep these areas clean for you and your dog.
Thank you for reading this and understanding that we are just trying to make everyone’s experience a pleasant one. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email or by phone info@carawaykennels.com or 517-655-4178
Thank you again,
Mary and Melissa
